I've been dating a guy for about three months. In general, he's a pretty nice guy and we get along okay; I just don't feel any real spark there. After about a week, I resumed the talk about her coming over and marrying me. Anna was very glad, yet seemed uneasy. I told her that moving to another country is a lot harder that it might seem at first, that she was bound to experience a culture shock and, maybe, even get depressed for a while. In addition, while waiting for her immigration status to be finalized, she could be barred from freely leaving the country and coming back, should anything happen to her parents. Along with the forms, she send a very sincere handwritten note about how much she loved me. On my end, I started to gather all of the necessary documents as well. I also explained to her that, before coming over, she needed to really brush up her English. Once she was in the US, I said, she would need to take at least one semester full time, studying the language at the advanced level and then be done with it for good; for that she needed to be fully prepared while still remaining in Russia.
